Evening with Approaching Fog is quintessential DaFeng.“I was driving through coastal Maine and turned down a small local road which led me to a fishing port in Jonesport,” says Mo.“From the dock, I saw these wooden dories on the dark deep water, slowly spinning and making a hollow knocking sound when they touched. I was the only one on the dock, as the fishermen had finished their day’s work.The whole place was ethereal. Back in my studio, I refined my initial composition, focusing on the aged details of the dories to reveal the character of the scene. I exaggerated the view to give the foreground a relaxed feeling while keeping a hazy, soft, but still vivid imaginary quality to the background.”
